I am Monkey. No, that’s not my real name. But it’s a nickname I have had since I was about 10yo.
I have two boys by birth, Pman (b. 2002) and Godzilla (b. 2006). And a daughter by custody, GB (b. 1991). No, those aren’t their real names either. GB joined the Army in the summer of 2009 and graduated basic training in October 2009.
T is my partner, he is awesome. He has three children from a previous marriage: PA (b. 1994), Tonk (b. 1996) and Franky (b. 1997). We currently have them on the front half of the week. They live with their mother on the back half.
I started blogging in 2005 after a traumatic event with my daughter’s biomom. The blog changed and evolved into what you see here today.
This blog was given the name ‘they belong to us’ because of what my family was going through at the time. Our children, our responsibilities, our lives, our mistakes. They all belong to us. We are claiming ownership of them.
