Toy Review: The Expert Guide to Positions DVD

I don’t usually do porn. I have some great stuff, but I can’t say that I have actually sat down (laid down?) and watched any of it all the way through. I should probably do that at some point, just to say that I did. I am probably missing something.

Regardless of that, when this item became available to review, I decided to check it out. I have two of her dvd’s (see links above) and thought I might like this one, too.

I was right.

T and I watched this dvd together the other night. It was nice to be able to watch it, and talk it out with him at the same time.

At the beginning of this dvd, Tristan Taormino talks about seven different important things to think about when choosing sexual positions. Along with her talking about each particular point, you get a visual of couples doing what she is talking about. This is so helpful! Further in the dvd she talks about 17 different sexual positions, what they are called, how to do them, and the extra’s that can come with each position (Can you touch the clit, breasts, balls, etc. from this position? Can you use a toy, and what kind?). Then she talks about safer sex – what to use and how to do it. When the instructional piece of the dvd is done, you get the option of watching seven couples go from oral sex, through several positions, and ending with the cum shot. There are a couple bonus scenes thrown in for good measure.

T and I had some disagreements with Tristan regarding some of the positions and who would benefit from them. She says that partners with bad knees would be better in a missionary or kneeling position, rather than standing. T disagrees with this, but his knees hurt no matter what, so he is probably biased in that. She also states that the sidesaddle position works for the pregnant woman or full-figured partners, but T and I looked at each other and said, “Where does the belly go?”

Final say? I liked it. This dvd has a lot of good information in it, especially for couples/partners who want some ideas for a change of pace. If nothing else, I got names to positions I do and got to watch some pretty hot people have sex.
